Redford Family

In 1996 a Virginia Beach native named Matt Redford started a small kayak eco-tour company called Chesapean Kayak Tours hoping to share the “backyard of his youth” with others. At the time there were few companies offering kayak tours and the ones that did focused on flatwater trips in the marshes. Chesapean was the first to offer daily kayak trips in the ocean to see bottlenose dolphins and to this day these tours remain our specialty.
